Dear John,

It was a busy week, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on how I am fighting
for our conservative values.

Joe Biden’s State of the Union was one of the most divisive and politically
charged that I have ever heard. He used his platform to attack conservatives
like you and me, falsely accusing us of going after Social Security and
standing in the way of secure borders, all while taking credit for a “strong
economy.” I’ll be frank. The state of our union is in decline. We have an
invasion on our southern border, a raging crime epidemic, and never-ending
inflation that’s hitting Americans any time we open our wallets. Thankfully,
it’s not the president’s assessment of the state of the union that matters—it’s
yours. Voters are fed up with Joe Biden’s presidency, and we will be working
with you to make that clear in November.

I am pleased to see that my bill, Protecting America’s Seniors’ Access to
Care Act, has passed in the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee. I introduced
this legislation to prevent the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
from imposing a minimum staffing rule for care facilities. This rule would
limit access to care and potentially lead to nursing home closures, displacing
countless seniors. I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues to
ensure that nursing homes, especially those in our rural communities, can
recruit and retain staff while providing quality care to their residents.

170. That is the number of House Democrats who voted against the Laken Riley
Act—a bill that would require the deportation of illegal immigrants caught
committing crimes. As you may know, this legislation was named after the late
Laken Riley, a young University of Georgia student who was murdered by an
illegal alien. Despite this, Democrats insist it is Republicans like you and I
who are playing politics with the border. That is ridiculous. Republicans in
the House have been fighting for border security for years. We passed H.R. 2,
the Secure the Border Act in May of 2023! We have been warning Democrats of the
deadly consequences of leaving the border open, but they refuse to take
meaningful action against criminal aliens for fear of retribution by radical
activists and their far-left base.

As always, please contact my office if there is anything we can help with.
Thank you for your continued support!

With gratitude,
