John,

Joe Biden parroted pro-abortion lies in last night’s State of the Union Address which Democrats hope will win them the 2024 election. Biden used his nationwide speech yesterday to advocate for the murder of children with disabilities.

>> One of the president’s special guests at the State of the Union was a Texas woman who filed a lawsuit in order to abort her child with a disability ([link removed]) . Kate Cox’s pro-abortion doctor did not believe the risks of pregnancy were outweighed by the benefit since her child was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 and would likely have a short life after birth.

You’ve probably seen horrible headlines and maybe even heard friends say that Joe Biden is right.

We’re here to help you have those hard conversations.
Here's what Biden said:

"Like most Americans, I believe Roe v. Wade got it right… But my predecessor came to office determined to see Roe v. Wade overturned. He’s the reason it was overturned. And he brags about it. Look at the chaos that has resulted.

Joining us tonight is Kate Cox, a wife and mother from Dallas. She’d become pregnant again, and had a fetus with a fatal condition. Her doctor told Kate that her own life and her ability to have children in the future were at risk if she didn’t act.

Because Texas law banned her ability to act, Kate and her husband had to leave the state to get what she needed. What her family got through should have never happened as well."

Here are the facts:
* At the heart of this story is the idea that we have to choose between protecting mothers and protecting children. Pro-Life advocates believe in loving them both.

* Democrats claim that Cox’s pregnancy put her life and future fertility at risk, but Texas law allows doctors to intervene in such serious circumstances, such as through C-section or induction.

+ Cox’s attorneys did not argue in court that her condition would irrevocably harm her, and other doctors filed briefs for the court asserting that there were other available medical options to care for the mother and baby.

+ The anti-Life lawyers actually claimed that her pregnancy was not worth continuing because her child may not live long after birth.

* Texas Pro-Life laws protect all babies from the violence of abortion, no matter their age, size, or health.

* It is true that some doctors in Texas are confused about what the law is, but the solution is having our health agencies educate doctors, not to legalize all abortions.

* The truly compassionate response to children and their mothers after a tragic diagnosis is perinatal palliative care ([link removed]) and support from nonprofits like Abel Speaks. ([link removed])

Intentionally causing the death of a child is never a cure to a disease or a treatment for the mother.
As Pro-Life doctors have explained over and over again, there are times when a physician may need to intervene in a medical emergency with early induction or a C-section in extreme cases. However, the goal of these interventions is to protect both mother and child, not to seek the death of one of their patients.

Personal Story
When a baby is diagnosed with a serious illness, abortion is not the loving approach. One Texas mother responded to Biden’s State of the Union message, offering a better path.
“My aim in this short piece is to set politics aside and share a different perspective — one that I am personally acquainted with because I, too, have received a Trisomy 18 diagnosis for my unborn child.

...

If my son’s death was impending, I wasn’t going to be the one to set that date. Rather than have an abortion, I gave my son a name, and Abel Paul Crawford’s earthly journey continued. I got to take care of my son for 15 days outside of the womb. Those two weeks were simultaneously the hardest and the happiest — the saddest and the sweetest — 15 days of my life.

People may think it would have been easier for us to choose the other route. But the truth is, terminating my son would not have spared me an ounce of loss or despair — it would have only robbed me of the joyful memories that forever mark my season with Abel.”

As we get closer to the 2024 election this fall, Biden and the Democrats will only amplify their efforts to deceive and confuse others on the issue of abortion.

This means that every Pro-Life American must be prepared to boldly speak the truth, challenge deadly rhetoric, and defend Life.

Thank you for taking part in this important Pro-Life ministry.
