John,

As we celebrate International Women's Day, I am inspired to honor a remarkable leader who exemplifies the spirit of this year's theme: Inspire Inclusion.

My Congresswoman, Marilyn Strickland, a trailblazer whose leadership journey resonates deeply with our shared commitment to forging a more inclusive world for women.

Inclusion means creating spaces where women not only belong but thrive and lead.

Marilyn's groundbreaking achievements as the first African-American woman from the Pacific Northwest and one of the first Korean American women in Congress remind us of the power of diversity in our leadership.

Her story, like mine, underscores the transformative impact of embracing and advocating for women's full participation across all spheres.

This International Women's Day, I ask you to join me by making a donation to Marilyn’s reelection campaign so she can keep fighting for us in Congress. Will you make a contribution now? By supporting leaders like Marilyn and advocating for policies that uplift all women, we contribute to a world where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Marilyn is leading the charge in Congress and your support is crucial to her re-election. With her leadership, we can continue to break barriers and build a future where every woman sees herself reflected in the faces of our leaders.

In solidarity,

April Sims
President, Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO

Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland proudly represents Washington’s 10th District. As the first Korean American woman and the first African-American to represent the Pacific Northwest in Congress, Marilyn made history. Now, she’s working to help our communities defeat and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, expand access to affordable health care and build an economy that works for all of us.
