Saludos John,

Tonight is the State of the Union Address and I get to invite a guest to the address. This year, I'm inviting Treva Riley, a longtime tribal teacher from Laguna Pueblo.

Teachers like Treva are at the heart of Tribal communities and remind us of the importance of fairness in education everywhere.

That's why I introduced the bipartisan Parity for Tribal Educators Act in September — because we need to make sure that our Native American teachers like Treva get the benefits they deserve and because every single child in New Mexico deserves a quality education.

This year — and every year — when we all gather to listen to the State of the Union, I want us to remember the importance of educational equity in New Mexico's Tribal communities. The Parity for Tribal Educators Act is a step in the right direction, and much like the State of the Union, reminds us that there is still more work to be done.

Gabe

P.S. If you’re able, I’d really appreciate it if you would consider chipping in to support my reelection campaign. [[link removed]] Together, we can keep NM-02 blue and keep making critical progress for our Tribal communities.

Together, we flipped NM-02 in 2022. Now, Gabe is busy in Congress fighting for reproductive choice, economic opportunity, affordable healthcare, and the best interests of the people. Gabe won the most competitive Democratic seat in Congress in 2022, and is running to be a champion for working families and build an economy that benefits everyone.
