It’s Women’s History Month and the team here at New Politics wanted to take a moment to talk about representation and honor some of the women who are running to make an impact.

In Congress, 29% of representatives are women…
In the Senate, 25% of senators are women…
In local State Government, 33% of legislators are women…
And there’s never been a woman President…

Why is this the case? We could talk all day about gender bias in leadership positions, and believe me I’ve got stories.

But beyond the many barriers, every woman is all too familiar with, running for political office while holding a job and even raising a family is hard, especially without a network or support system.

But women make great servant leaders — we need more of their voices and perspectives in office.

That representation is exactly why, here at New Politics, we’re helping to support and elect more women to office by providing resources, programs, connections, and advisement for servant leader candidates, including many incredible women. Take a look:

Kate Rumsey, Former Air Force Reserve and candidate for State House, Texas 115th District.
Kate will use her experience and service background to champion women’s reproductive rights, pass common sense gun safety reform, and fund public schools.
Callie Barr, Former Military Family Advocate and candidate for Michigan’s First Congressional District.
Callie is running to expand childcare and education funding, empower our middle class, and fight for veterans.
Ashley Ehasz, U.S. Army veteran and candidate for Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District.
If elected, Ashley would be the first woman serving in Congress to have graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

And there’s so many more! So far in the 2024 cycle, we’re endorsing and supporting 40 women running for office with many more in consideration. All of whom are already servant leaders who have stepped up to serve their communities and country before.

Click here to learn more about our endorsed candidates and officeholders. Together, we can serve, run, and elect more women to transform the next generation of leadership.

Thanks for showing up for women this Women’s History Month,

Emily

New Politics supports outstanding military veterans and national service leaders, alumni of programs like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps, to step up and serve our country again, this time through politics. We were proud to be behind the movement of veterans who ran for office for the first time in 2018, and we have big plans to grow into the future.
