It is hard to believe we are asking you to take this action, but here we are. In the middle of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, the Biden Administration “paused” funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). Even before this unconscionable action UNRWA and other aid agencies have struggled to provide life-saving work for Palestinian refugees.

The humanitarian crisis affecting 2.2 million civilians in Gaza grows daily. More than 30,000 have been killed and tens of thousands more injured with no access to medical care, food, or clean water. Today, children in Gaza are dying from starvation. Aid provided by UNRWA is the difference between life and death.

At a time when we are seeing unprecedented human suffering in Gaza, we mustn't take away a lifeline. A group in Congress has drafted a Dear Colleague letter addressed to congressional appropriators. The letter supports humanitarian assistance in Gaza and opposes any effort to halt or reduce future funding of UNRWA.

Please take a moment today to ask your member of Congress to sign on to this letter in support of UNRWA. The deadline for signing on is March 6th, 2024.
