Dear John,

It was a busy week, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on how I am fighting
for our conservative values.

In breaking news on Friday, a federal appeals court panel ruled that some
January 6 defendants had their sentences improperly lengthened by judges. The
decision could force district court judges in Washington, D.C., to recalculate
or even reduce sentences for J6'ers convicted of felony obstruction. This is a
validation for many J6 defendants who received unequal application of the law
because of their political beliefs. We welcome this judgement for reining in
the prosecutors who abused the legal system to criminally punish those they
politically disagree with.

Recently, Senator Klobuchar and I sent a letter to the U.S. Census Bureau
Director urging the Bureau to address the reported undercount of students at
Southwest Minnesota State University in the 2020 Census results. This
undercount was a result of Minnesota State University’s shift to remote
learning caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. While it may seem innocuous, this
undercount could have significant implications for the community, as it may
impact the federal resources and representation it receives. I will continue to
work across the aisle to see this situation resolved and the City of Marshall
fairly represented.

I'm honored to be recognized as a YMCA Congressional Champion for my work on
the Investing in Rural America Act. Rural communities face unique challenges,
including limited access to essential services like childcare and healthcare.
I'm committed to addressing these issues and ensuring that all communities,
regardless of size or location, have access to the resources they need to
thrive. Thank you to the YMCA for this recognition, and I look forward to
continuing our work together to support rural America.

As always, please contact my office if there is anything we can help with.
Thank you for your continued support!

With gratitude,
