Friend,

Iowa biofuels are good for the environment, consumers, and our farmers. Expanding the use of biofuels is a win-win-win.

In April of 2022, Governor Kim Reynolds led eight other Midwestern governors in submitting a formal request to the Biden Administration to allow the year-round sale of E15 in their states. While the EPA will grant Governor Reynolds’ request for E15 to be sold year-round in Iowa, they are needlessly delaying implementation until 2025.

I’ve had enough of the delays and uncertainty. That’s why I joined the Iowa delegation in calling on the EPA to implement year-round E15 immediately to give consumers relief at the pump this summer, support our biofuel producers, and help our environment. The biofuels industry supports 57,000 Iowa jobs, contributes over 7 billion to our state’s GDP, and reduces prices at the pump. Additionally, ethanol reduced U.S. crude oil imports by 600 million barrels in 2022, playing a huge role in American energy independence.

Delaying the permanent, year-round sale of E15 unfairly punishes American farmers and families who are drowning in the Biden economy and deserve immediate relief. I will continue to champion Iowa biofuels as a key part of an all-of-the-above energy strategy!

Best,

Biden's "Check the Box" Border Visit

Under Joe Biden, every state is a border state. Moms everywhere now have to worry about their kids riding bikes around the neighborhood or their daughters going on a jog where they should be safe.

President Biden started this border crisis, and he has the authority to end it. If he wants to make his border trip more than a box to check during an election year, he shouldn’t leave without fully reinstating Remain in Mexico, restarting wall construction, and ending catch and release to ensure violent criminals like Ibarra are not allowed to illegally enter our country and murder Americans.

Telephone Town Hall

We hosted another telephone town hall this week, my 11th virtual town hall this Congress!

Thank you to everyone who took time out of their evening to join the conversation and share their thoughts on border security, election integrity, and supporting Iowa’s small business community. One thing is clear: Iowans are fed up with the direction of our country under President Biden and support commonsense, conservative policies to restore American prosperity.

During the call, I asked our listeners to share their top policy priority. Check out the results below!

What is your top policy priority?

Securing the Border – 67%

Cutting Spending – 13%

Lowering energy costs – 11%

Reducing government regulation – 8%

Meeting with the Iowa Legislature

Thank you to Republican members of the Iowa legislature for the warm welcome this week. We’ll continue working together to make Iowa the best place to live, work, and raise a family – and to hold the line against the disastrous Biden agenda.

MFL MarMac High School

Our 22 County Tour took us to MFL MarMac High School this week. Their Pathfinders Program exposes students to in-demand industries, connects them with employers, and helps them learn real-world skills.

Corner Market & Greenhouse

The Manske family owns and operates Corner Market & Greenhouse in Oelwein. I got a sneak peek at their new expansion and preparations for the 2024 season. They’re definitely living up to their goal of “big city variety with small town hospitality!”

Iowa Civil Air Patrol

It was great to have the Iowa Civil Air Patrol leaders and cadets stop by my office in DC! Since 1941, the Iowa Wing has responded to natural disasters and worked tirelessly to protect our state. Thank you for your service to Iowa.
