Veteran to doctor to congressman isn't a path you hear of often, John.

But as we get closer to the election on March 5, I want to share a bit about my journey and why I’m the best candidate to serve TX-32. If you're already fired up, you can go ahead and make a donation of $5 to help my campaign in these crucial final days. >> [link removed]

Now, let’s get to it:

Throughout my life, I’ve always answered the call to serve. First, serving my country as an Air Force officer, then completely changing directions to serve my community as a trauma surgeon saving lives.

It was a long and challenging process, but the rewards have been worth it. However, I saw firsthand how our broken healthcare system fails so many in need and I became determined to find solutions. That’s why jumped at the chance to serve as one of six selected for the most prestigious health policy fellowship in the country — the Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellowship at the National Academy Of Medicine.

I was immersed in the federal legislative process–meeting with constituents and lobbyists, staffing committee hearings, and crafting legislation. And my decades of experience as a veteran and doctor allowed me to use my unique voice to influence policy and contribute to monumental federal legislation.

In Congress, I served as a Health Policy Advisor for Senator Chris Murphy and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In Senator Murphy’s office, I helped craft legislation for healthcare and gun safety, including the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act – the most significant gun safety law in a generation. Next, I served in the Office of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. There, I continued working on federal legislation to reduce healthcare costs, bolster the healthcare workforce, and prepare for the next pandemic.

My time in Congress showed me that we can do a lot of good for a lot of people with the right leaders in place. It's what inspired me to run for TX-32 and fight to bring life-saving change to our community.

This campaign is a team effort. That’s why I’m asking for your help by making a donation of $5 or whatever you can afford to support my campaign in the final stretch of the election. >> [link removed]
