Hello Democrats,
Today is Leap Day, an extra day added to our calendars every 4 years to sync our calendar years with the solar year, which is approximately 365.25 days long. By implementing Leap Day, our calendars remain in-sync with the seasons and our timelines stay aligned with the sun’s. Plus, we have one extra day to meet our February fundraising goal!
Many myths and superstitions from around the world surround leap years, with various cultures considering leap years to be unlucky. In Scotland, those born on Leap Day are thought to be unlucky, while in Greece and Ukraine, getting married in a leap year is said to result in an unfortunate marriage and likely divorce. Here in the USA, leap years coincide with our presidential elections, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it has to result in misfortune…
Whether or not this leap year’s presidential election results in misfortune is up to voters like you. We all can prevent the misfortune of yet another disastrous Trump presidency. However, despite having an extra day to meet our fundraising goals before our end-of-month deadline , we are still behind.
