John,

We all know the horrible consequences of having firearms in schools. Our state experienced those consequences less than two months ago. So, let me clear:

Guns don't belong in schools.

But that's not what my Republican colleagues think. Their solution to gun violence in schools: arm teachers.

This is what we are fighting against in 2024, extremists who want to cut public education funding, reduce teacher pay, and make marksmanship a professional development course.

Our students, children, and teachers need us to bring commonsense to Iowa's state government. That means we need to elect more Democrats and grow our grassroots movement even more. Can you chip in $11 today and help us fight for Iowa's students, teachers, and our future?

This is our last day in February, and it's special because this is a leap year. That means we have an extra day to make a difference before this year's election — and we're gonna need every second of it.

We have the opportunity to knock on hundreds of extra doors, make thousands of extra calls, and connect with countless Iowans. But only if we build our movement today.

Extremists are running our state, importing national politics, and dragging our communities down. We need to break extremist control in Des Moines so that we can legislate based on what Iowans want instead of the whims of national Republicans.

I'm fighting for Iowans and our communities. If you are in this fight with me, then can you donate today and help me build the grassroots movement that will lead for all of us?

Stand Tall for All,

J.D.
