*MADISON, Wis.* – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invites the public to join DNR staff members on Monday, March 4, at the DNR Service Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, for the final meeting of a six-part series focused on fisheries management in northeast Wisconsin.

Part of a Spotlight Series that highlights various fisheries in Green Bay and inland waters in the northeast, this meeting will focus on ongoing Lower Green Bay and Fox River Area of Concern habitat restoration projects. Brie Kupsky, DNR Green Bay Program Coordinator, will provide history on the Great Lakes Area of Concern program and why the Lower Green Bay and Fox River were designated as Areas of Concern in the late 1980s.

Kupsky will also discuss how the DNR and project partners are working toward improving habitat to remove the Area of Concern designation. DNR Project Managers Jessica Brandt and Mandy Mellinger will also provide an overview of the implementation plans and involvement opportunities for 12 different fish and wildlife habitat restoration projects benefiting fish species like northern pike, lake sturgeon, muskellunge, smallmouth bass and walleye.

The meeting will be held in person and via Zoom from 6 to 8 p.m.

You can find more information about this event, including Zoom registration info, on the DNR’s meetings and hearings [ [link removed] ] calendar.
