There is a General Election just around the corner

Dear John,

This year there will be a General Election and what unfolds will shape the future of the UK for generations to come.

It feels like a lifetime since the last election in 2019. Anti-migrant activism is on the rise, hatred towards LGBT+ people is becoming mainstream, climate conspiracy theories are spreading, and antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred are rising as a result of the conflict in Middle East.

John, we have to tackle those who push hateful and divisive politics at the next election. Whether it’s the usual racists of the far right, those pushing antisemitic conspiracy theories or the growing group of Radical Right Conservatives whose views are almost indistinguishable from the Radical Right parties across Europe.

Now, we have our election strategy.

We will campaign against any candidate who crosses our Red Lines - candidates with a history of hateful politics and dividing communities. Our campaign is driven by values, not personalities.

The campaign will be highly localised, so we can focus our resources on the candidates who pose the biggest threat to our democracy. We'll be in touch if a candidate in your area is one of our targets soon.

You can read more about our plans on our website.

John, this is your battle too. An election can happen at any time this year, so we need to be ready to kick into action. We’ll need hands to deliver leaflets, voices to speak up for change and contributions to keep up the momentum. Every effort matters.
