Hi there,

I wanted to make sure you’ve heard the news: I was just sworn in as a member of the US House of Representatives!

Today wouldn’t have been possible without grassroots supporters like you. While some in the media doubted until the very end that we would win the special election, my confidence never wavered because I had you by my side.

From today onward, I’ll do exactly what I campaigned on–find common ground and work with anyone to help solve the problems our country faces. And we have a lot of work to do. If we’re going to solve problems like climate change, our broken immigration system, and more, we need to put partisan politics aside and get things done. There’s too much at stake to do anything else.

But even as there’s so much important work to do in Washington DC, we can’t ignore that National Republicans are already gearing up to retake this seat in November. One challenger has already jumped into the race, and National Republicans could spend millions to support him.

So while today is a new beginning for NY-03, the reality is that we will need more than 10 months to fix all the problems facing Nassau and Queens. That’s why I’m asking you if you would chip in any amount right away to help kickstart my reelection campaign. I need your help to make sure I win a full term in November.
