Nature Restoration Law

A victory for nature

It's official: we have a Nature Restoration Law in the EU! Yesterday, the law was finally approved by the EU Parliament, thanks to the relentless work of Green rapporteur Jutta Paulus and of the Green Group, as well as the mobilisation of activists and civil society across Europe. And despite opposition from a toxic coalition of the center-right in the EPP and ECR, some liberals in Renew Europe, and the far-right ID.

This law will restore degraded ecosystems in all members states, help achieve the EU’s climate and biodiversity objectives and enhance food security! Celebrate with us:

Ukraine

Ukraine's future lies in the EU

Two years ago, Russia started its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This unjustifiable war of aggression has brought two years of suffering and destruction upon the Ukrainian people. We remember all the lives lost on the battlefield, in the streets, in parks, in hospitals and in the peace of their own homes. And we pay tribute to the brave Ukrainians who continue to fight for peace, democracy and an independent, pro-European future. Ukraine’s struggle for freedom is also our struggle. Their - and our - security depends on our support. The EU must work towards greater geopolitical and economic independence

Gaza

Ceasefire now

1.3 million Palestinians are now in Rafah after fleeing other areas of Gaza. That is a 5-fold increase in the population. The Israel's Government must refrain from any ground offensive to prevent a worsening of the humanitarian catastrophe engulfing Gaza, which already led to the death of many thousands of innocent civilians. We continue to call for a ceasefire now and for all the Israeli hostages to be released, as a precursor to a lasting peace, and a two-state solution. The Israeli government's actions are contributing to the prolonged detention of the hostages, and we stand with their loved ones as they campaign for their release.
