Hi John,

Did you know that polar bears have blue tongues? Or that their hair isn't white? It's transparent!

I think polar bears are fascinating and amazingly adapted to life on sea ice. But as the Arctic rapidly warms, their sea ice home is melting away. Their loss of habitat from climate change is the biggest threat to their survival.

Less sea ice means less time for polar bears to find food and greater potential for conflicts with people on land. It also means new passageways and opportunities for industrial development at sea, creating new threats to polar bears. The last thing they need is the added risk of a potential oil spill.

Like so many other threatened species, polar bears need our help urgently.

Act now—on Polar Bear Day—to help keep precious wildlife like polar bears and other species in our world.

When you start your monthly donation and symbolically adopt a polar bear, you'll protect endangered species and their habitats from many threats—and you'll help us reach our goal of 100 Polar Bear Day donors.

I'll help protect wildlife with my donation! ►
