In 2024, we continue efforts to support the renovation of American democracy by prioritizing initiatives that advance the Our Common Purpose recommendations. These include: enacting Supreme Court term limits, creating a cultural expectation of national service, preparing democratic citizens in higher education, promoting a healthy civic culture, supporting democracy reform locally, uplifting champions from across the democracy spectrum, and commemorating America’s 250th anniversary in 2026. ** The Trust for Civic Life Seeks Grant Nominations

The Trust for Civic Life is a grantmaking collaborative that connects national and regional funders with the local people, places, and programs that bring communities together to solve problems, build trust, and strengthen our democracy. The Trust emerged from the Our Common Purpose report and recently launched their new website ([link removed]) . The Trust is currently accepting nominations for the initial grant cycle focused on hubs in rural regions of the United States. Hubs are defined as anchor institutions, community foundations, nonprofit networks, or small businesses that serve as trusted intermediaries for building local civic programming and cultivating and distributing needed resources.
