Hello Democrats,
This week, Alabama’s Supreme Court ruled 8 to 1 to consider frozen embryos legally as children. The Court’s Chief Justice, Tom Parker, invoked the Bible [[link removed]] by writing that “human life can not be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God” in his official opinion. This sets an abhorrent precedent for state governments to make harmful legal decisions about one’s own decisions about starting a family on the basis of personal religious views.
Here in New Mexico, anti-abortion legislators and activists are relentlessly trying to prevent women from making their own health care choices. With the Alabama Supreme Court reminding us of the importance of preventing zealots from forcing their own beliefs onto others from taking office.
This is a reminder that abortion rights are always on the ballot here in New Mexico and it’s up to Democrats like you to do your part to help safeguard these critical rights, especially against those who are hellbent on stripping them away. Can you make a donation today to help prevent New Mexico from turning into Alabama? [[link removed]]
