Dear  john ,

I hope that you and your family are enjoying the President’s Day weekend. If you are in Washington next week attending CPAC, I will be speaking on Friday about the importance of law and order. I hope to visit with you there!

Last Monday, the House of Representatives officially impeached Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas. There was no question how I was going to cast my vote. The House did its work to hold this lawless, dangerous bureaucrat accountable. Now it’s time to take this trial to the Senate.

When the Biden administration violates federal law and instead implements an agenda of chaos, lawlessness, and disorder, they must be held accountable.

The Bishop-Roy Stand Up to the Executive (SUE) for Immigration Enforcement Act Passes Markup

While the Biden administration violates the law in pursuit of its open borders agenda, state officials in Texas, Florida, and elsewhere are standing in the breach to fight for our sovereignty and protect the American people.

In United States v. Texas, the Supreme Court found that states lacked standing to challenge the Biden administration’s horrendous policies. In writing for the majority, Justice Kavanaugh stated that the ruling might differ if Congress acted, providing legal standing for state officials.

My friend Rep. Chip Roy and I introduced the SUE for Immigration Enforcement Act to do just that. Our bill grants state officials standing to bring an action against the federal government if a state suffers harm due to the Biden administration’s intentional desecration of our laws.

They are now extorting the states and the American people in the wake of the Senate’s failed Lankford-Mayorkas amnesty deal. The American people need backup from Congress, and that’s just what our bill does.

I’m glad to report that our bill passed out of markup in the Judiciary Committee on Thursday, meaning that it is now headed to the House floor. I’ll be sure to keep you updated on future developments via social media and this newsletter.

Fighting ESG Cartels

Frequent readers of this newsletter will remember when Congressmen Jim Jordan, Thomas Massie, and I launched investigations into collusive groups of investors who work behind the scenes to promote ESG investing. which prioritizes leftist green new deal fantasies over what is best for their shareholders, for consumers, and for the strength of the American economy.

Late last week we received some excellent news - JPMorgan Chase, BlackRock, and State Street have exited Climate Action 100, a major climate cartel backed by the United Nations.

We’ll continue to investigate these corrupt schemes and will keep pushing forward until we end these cartels for good. You should be able to trust that your investment portfolio is well-managed and oriented towards growth, not being recklessly weaponized to promote insane leftist policies.

The Week in Weaponized Government

Surprise, surprise - CISA bureaucrats are yet again at the center of government censorship schemes. Our friends at America First Legal have revealed a new batch of documents showing their blatant censorship and election interference.

TWEET: Surprise, surprise…

With my Censorship Accountability Act, we can hold them accountable in court. When Congress returns to Washington, that bill will be considered in the Judiciary Committee. We must pass this legislation with haste.

The Swampy Ukraine First Caucus succeeded in passing its latest America Last package through the Senate, but Speaker Mike Johnson promised that the bill is dead on arrival here in the House. I will do everything in my power to fight against it. I will not support any swampy schemes to send your hard-earned tax dollars into a foreign quagmire.

TWEET: America Last Senators

In the shocking special counsel report released last week, Special Counsel Robert Hur revealed that then-Vice President Biden shared classified information with his ghostwriter, who also DELETED portions of their recorded conversations.

What is he hiding? We intend to find out.

Art Competition

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent nationwide and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated. Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and each Congressman selects a winner. Winners are recognized both in our district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.

Artwork submissions are due to one of our district offices by April 12, 2024.
