Americans Agree: Enough Is Enough By refusing to comply with U.S. immigration laws, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has not only been derelict in his duty to defend our homeland, but he has also destroyed the fabric of this nation. Americans agree: He had to be impeached. This week, I proudly stood with my Republican colleagues and constituents in declaring 'enough is enough,' as we officially voted to impeach Secretary Mayorkas, the architect of destruction. I look forward to serving as an impeachment manager for the upcoming Senate trial, where I will use my experience as a federal prosecutor to stand up for our Constitution and the safety of the American people. I spoke more about this historic win for Americans and our national security on Fox News' "The Faulkner Focus" below. Click to watch Strengthening the Australia-UK-US Alliance With wars in Europe and the Middle East — coupled with international security challenges from Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea’s unholy alliance — it's clear our adversaries are becoming more aggressive. They are working together to undermine Western values and change the global balance of power. As the world burns, America is being tested. Ensuring unity with our closest allies abroad and demonstrating strength — not weakness — is more important now than ever. That's why this week, I held a hearing in the House Foreign Affairs Committee on the importance of our close alliance with the United Kingdom and Australia. With AUKUS — the Australia, United Kingdom, and U.S. alliance — we have an opportunity to build on American innovation and partner with our closest allies to deter and defend against our greatest adversaries. Click to watch I Stand With Texas For three years, Texas has been forced to bear the brunt of the Biden administration’s failed open-border policies and abdication of duty. Now the Biden administration — after enabling millions of illegal crossings, a raging opioid crisis, and the worst human trafficking event of my lifetime — wants to prohibit Texas from picking up their slack. As a Texan and an attorney, I was proud to sign an amicus brief this week alongside 40+ members of Congress, supporting the State of Texas in its fight with the Biden administration over S.B. 4, a bill passed by the state legislature and signed into law by Governor Abbott, which makes illegal entry into Texas from a foreign nation a state crime. By signing this brief, I once again declared what the Constitution makes clear: In the absence of the federal government, our state has every right to defend itself.
