This morning, Governor Janet Mills ordered all nonessential businesses to close their doors for the next two weeks. With a mounting number of Mainers testing positive for COVID-19, I applaud the Governor for her decision – distancing ourselves from others is the best and safest course of action.

We are facing an unprecedented crisis, but we are Mainers. We are resilient and we will get through this.

Thank you to all the essential workers, our health care workers, our first responders, and our grocery store and pharmacy personnel, who will continue to show up to work every day and to keep us safe and to keep Maine moving.

Together, we can flatten the curve. Stay safe and stay inside!

In Solidarity,

Betsy Sweet
