Happy Valentine's Day, John! We asked our community to submit nature poems, and the submissions were amazing... ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Hi John,

Happy Valentine's Day! I wanted to take a moment to share how much I love having you here with us—protecting wildlife and nature for future generations. You are the heart of WWF!

This year, we asked our supporters to explore poetry to express admiration for nature and wildlife, and – wow! – did our community deliver. It was so difficult to select a handful of these poems to share, but I'm eager to share some of the amazing entries we received. Thank you to everyone who participated.

Take me to the Mountains

Close your eyes and feel the crisp, cool air
Listen as the wind rustles the leaves
Breathe in the freedom of the outdoors
Take a moment to consider your blessings
Look around and truly take note
Every color, smell and sound
The mountains are calling
How will you answer?

- Meg

Nature my Love
Nature my Love, without you my life would be dull and lifeless.

I need your warm embrace, your uplifting manner, your encouragement to persevere.

I want to see you, feel you, breathe you.

You are my light, my hope, my future, my everything.

Without you - I am nothing.

Because you are me, and I am you.

Now and Forever.

- Petra

Flight of Shining Feathers
A bird
Almost seems black at first
Just for a moment
And then
Feathers dotted with golden, brown, orange
Perched on a low branch outside of everything
Glowing in the sun like a thousand jewels
Just for a moment
And then
Open wings
Flight Into the blinding sun

- Nahara

Weren't those lovely? I hope you'll share a few of them with a loved one today. And if you haven't seen our video entitled Can we Love More?, which features beautiful animation and lyrical narration, you can can watch it here—along with a few other poems from supporters.
