The Vote

President Trump continues to demonstrate decisive, effective leadership.

In the midst of these uncertain times, we're grateful for President Trump's leadership. Each day brings news and potential policy changes that, in other times, would be rolled out over weeks and months.

We're continuing to watch President Trump's daily press conferences, and we'd encourage you to do so too. You can find them on TV, livestreamed on social media, or on the White House's website at WhiteHouse.gov/live.

As always, we're wishing for the continued health and safety for you, your family, and your community. We'll continue to bring you the news you'll want to know, including these top stories for Wednesday.

Breaking news for the media: the American people trust President Trump.

"The poll findings are in line with other recent surveys that have confounded the national media. As it turns out, the American people view Trump's handling of the pandemic far more positively than the media would prefer." [Read the full story from the Washington Free-Beacon.]

As the Washington Free-Beacon reported, more Americans trust President Trump than the media on coronavirus.

That's likely thanks to the Trump Administration's daily press conferences on coronavirus relief and response. You can get the news live as it happens: on many TV stations, streamed on social media, or on the White House website at WhiteHouse.gov/live.

President Trump and many members of his Administration deliver clear, straightforward updates to the American people -- and continue to take decisive action in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

In contrast, some reporters use their opportunity to ask questions on behalf of the American people as a way to score cheap political points. That's disappointing and unnecessary.

In these uncertain times, as always, we're grateful for President Trump's leadership.

Sadly, the left has shown what really matters most to them: their own political ideology.

"This, it is clear, is not an emergency virus bill. It is a Democratic election wish list, politically poisoned at a time when hundreds are dying, thousands are losing their businesses, and millions are out of work in the United States." [Read the full story from The Federalist.]

Sadly, the coronavirus pandemic facing our country has revealed which elected officials are working for the American people -- and which elected officials prioritize their own ideology.

Final text of coronavirus relief legislation will be released and voted on today. But the process leading up to this moment has been full of delays and outrages, thanks to liberals in the House and Senate.

While President Trump has prioritized the American people, Congressional Democrats have used coronavirus relief legislation as an attempt to add unrelated, far-left legislative items to the docket.

As The Federalist reported, that list this week included extra funding for the Kennedy Center, a performing arts center in Washington, D.C.; tax credit for "green" energy sources; and big perks for unions.

In contrast, President Trump and his Administration remain focused on the American people and doing what's right for all Americans. That's real leadership!

Say it ain't so, Joe!

"Former Vice President Joe Biden has repeatedly pushed misinformation about the COVID-19 coronavirus in political attacks against President Donald Trump and his administration" [Read the full story from the Daily Caller.]

As we shared with you on Monday, Joe Biden has started to do a daily update -- and media interviews -- on the coronavirus response from a remote studio in his home.

It's unclear what effect he hopes to have on the public policy process. But the coronavirus pandemic has put an end to campaigning as we know it. Political rallies and door-to-door voter contact aren't approved under new social distancing guidelines -- and most Americans are (rightfully) focused on the health and safety of our country, not politics as usual.

Unfortunately, as Biden has tried to garner media attention for his campaign, he's also been spreading misinformation about President Trump's response to coronavirus, as this piece from the Daily Caller summarizes.

And for the good news: a great day for the market.

"Stocks surged on Tuesday as the Dow recorded its largest one-day gain since 1933, driven by expectations of an economic stimulus package from Congress to offset the effects of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic." [Read the full story from the National Review.]

And to close with good news, which we could all use more of: yesterday the Dow Jones had one its biggest -- and best! -- days ever in terms of single-day gains.

President Trump has predicted that once the U.S. faces down the coronavirus outbreak, we'll come roaring back. Let's consider this a sign of good things to come.

As always, we continue to hope for the health and safety of you, your family, and your community. In these uncertain times, our nation will come together to face this American, not partisan, challenge.
