This month, we are putting a spotlight on the recent Point-in-Time Homelessness Count, done during one of the snowiest, coldest stretches of an Alaska winter.

We are thrilled to announce that 15 more neighbors have taken a monumental step on their journey to stability and independence, bringing the total housed through our Next Step pilot to 50!

Hot coffee, blankets, snack packs and more await our neighbors every week at Anchorage parks where people experiencing homelessness are camping. The support is well-received during what has been a particularly snowy winter.

** 2024 Virtual Advocacy Day
------------------------------------------------------------

Wednesday, Feb. 21

1:00 pm to 4:30 pm

The Alaska Coalition on Housing and Homelessness (AKCH2) is hosting this free one-day virtual event convening agencies and advocates across Alaska to:
* Learn about the status of housing and homelessness throughout Alaska
* Receive updates on Housing Alaskans: A Public-Private Partnership (HAPPP)
* Explore what it means to authentically engage with persons with lived expertise, and
* Be informed about how the state budgeting process may impact housing programs in Alaska, and how to use this information when meeting with your legislators to advocate for the needs of your organization and community.

** Coordinated Entry Training Conference

March 1, 2024: Optional training on Motivational Interviewing

Unlock the path from homelessness to housing at the first Coordinated Entry Conference!

Join us for this groundbreaking event online or in person at The Nave on Feb. 28 and Feb. 29.

Teams from community Access Points, shelters and housing referral agencies will converge to explore the crucial role of Coordinated Entry, sharing insights and best practices. Don't just attend, actively participate and network! This is your opportunity to ensure housing success for our neighbors most in need.

Bonus opportunity! Join on March 1 for a virtual training on Motivational Interviewing.

This conference is tailored for staff who currently or intend to serve as Coordinated Entry Access Points and as program leads for housing referrals. Learn more and register here ([link removed]) .
