‌ ‌ WEEKLY UPDATE February 12th, 2024 Dear Kansas friends, Thank you for your interest in receiving my newsletter. Please feel free to share this with your friends and family. The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl Champions! The Kansas City Chiefs are back-to-back Super Bowl Champions! Congratulations to Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and the entire Chiefs organization on another remarkable season and incredible come-from-behind Super Bowl victory! I'm so proud of this team and to be part of the best fan base in the world. Let's go Chiefs Kingdom! How about those Chiefs! President Biden is Not Fit to be Commander-in-Chief President Biden was not charged in the classified documents case because the DOJ found him too cognitively impaired to stand trial. According to Special Counsel Hur’s report, Joe Biden did not remember when he was Vice President or when his son Beau passed away. It's abundantly clear that Joe Biden is not fit to be Commander-in-Chief. Honoring Lance Cpl. Donovan Davis I am deeply saddened to learn that 21-year-old Lance Cpl. Donovan Davis from Olathe was one of the five Marines killed in a helicopter crash earlier this week in California. These American heroes gave their lives protecting, defending, and selflessly serving our nation. Suzanne and I are praying for Donovan's family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult and tragic time. Standing for a Strong Southern Border Honored to join Retired Border Patrol Chief Chris Clem to talk about the worsening invasion at our southern border. It's past time to restore the rule of law, build the wall, and implement solutions to crack down on fentanyl traffickers. Over a year ago, I asked Secretary Mayorkas if he planned to resign for his failure to enforce federal immigration laws and protect Americans from the invasion at our southern border. He said no. Since then, there have been nearly 3,000,000 illegal crossings. Watch HERE I am a NO on the Senate Border Deal. Authorizing 1.8 million illegal immigrants to enter our country every single year (5K per day, 150K per month) will only further incentivize mass migration and exacerbate this worsening crisis. Our communities are getting crushed by Joe Biden’s open border policies. We can and must do better. It’s time for the Senate to pass HR 2. Congrats, Chief Wheeles! Congratulations to Chief Bryan Wheeles on his retirement from the Topeka Police Department! Chief Wheeles dedicated thirty years to serving Kansas families and protecting the Shawnee County community. I'm grateful for his unwavering commitment to keeping our streets safe and I wish Bryan and his family the best in his well-deserved retirement. Honoring Toby Keith Toby Keith wrote "Should've Been a Cowboy" in his hotel room during a pheasant hunting trip in Dodge City, Kansas. This was his first #1 hit and became the most-played country song of the 1990s. Toby was a proud American and a strong advocate for our servicemembers. He will be missed. Protection of Women & Girls in Sports Act Democrats in Washington DC can’t even define what a woman is but yet they want to allow biological males to compete in girls sports. It’s unfair and unsafe. I proudly voted for the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to ensure school athletic programs uphold Title IX and that only WOMEN can compete in WOMEN'S sports. Standing Against ATF Joe Biden's ATF continues to attack the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Kansans. This time they are targeting firearm dealers across our state over minor clerical errors. I joined my fellow Kansans to urge the ATF to help small businesses understand how to accurately complete the necessary paperwork for legal weapons purchases instead of working overtime to shut them down.
