Jeff Crank said it was "courageous" to oppose President Trump and endorse Nikki Haley on December 18th, 2023.

The Colorado Springs Gazette lied to you... along with El Paso County Clerk and Recorder, Steve Schleiker, and El Paso County Treasurer, Chuck Broerman, who all support anti-Trump congressional candidate Jeff Crank.

A recent article published by the Gazette circulated false and defamatory claims regarding our Party's upcoming State Assembly.

We want to unequivocally make clear that our State Assembly will never use Dominion, and, instead, will utilize safe and secure processes to include hand counts.

Again, these false claims are baseless and maliciously propagated by Jeff Crank supporters, and the Gazette, who are desperately trying to cover up the fact that their preferred congressional candidate works for Americans for Prosperity and defends AFP's decision to oppose President Donald J. Trump and endorse Nikki Haley.

Sadly, it has become obvious that the owner of the Gazette, Phil Anschutz, who opposes President Trump's candidacy, is doing everything within his power to resist the new conservative, populist direction of the GOP by propping up Never-Trump Republican candidates.

In an email sent to the Colorado Republican Party on June 13, 2023, Phil Anschutz encouraged Party leadership to agree with an anti-Trump opinion piece from the Washington Examiner, another publication Anschutz owns, titled, "Return to Sender: The GOP can give the country the president it deserves, but that's not Donald Trump."

Billionaire Phil Anschutz opposes President Trump and has used his publications to unduly influence unsuspecting voters.

While Jeff Crank, the Gazette, and Phil Anschutz will do and say anything to oppose or defeat President Trump...

your Party leadership, working with grassroots patriots across Colorado, will fight to Make America Great Again by supporting President Trump as our nominee.

To that end, we have engaged legal counsel and will seek all legal remedies to protect the Party from their libelous and defamatory article.

We will not tolerate any attempts to smear our Party or undermine the trust of our members and supporters.

It is evident that the motivations behind this false narrative stem from the anti-Trump agenda of Phil Anschutz, and the Gazette, in support of Jeff Crank's candidacy.

We urge you to disregard the false claims circulated by the Gazette and to remain vigilant against attempts to sow discord within our Party. Together, we will continue to uphold the principles and values that define the Colorado Republican Party.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Respectfully,
The Colorado Republican Party

P.S. The Colorado Republican Party is calling on the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder, Steve Schleiker, to recuse himself from overseeing and administering the election for the 5th Congressional District because of his support of Jeff Crank, and his outrageous attempt to lie about our Party.

Moreover, we will be exploring what legal remedies exist to hold the Gazette and Phil Anschutz accountable for using their publication to skirt campaign finance law and disclosure in support of their preferred candidate.

Billionaires should not be allowed to evade campaign finance disclosure and engage in dark money activity because they falsely claim it as "journalism."
In an interview on June 6, 2022, Steve Schleiker expressed to the leftwing publication, Colorado Springs Independent, that the election systems in Colorado have no issues, and Joe Biden won the 2020 election fairly and without major incident.
Chuck Broerman stands shoulder to shoulder with corrupt Secretary of State Jena Griswold who is trying to have the Supreme Court kick President Trump off the Colorado Primary Ballot and disenfranchise voters.
