We’re nearing 30 years since the Texas Freedom Network’s founding in 1995, and our work to counter far-right extremism in this state has never been more important.

Last fall, news broke that some of the most powerful far-right players in Texas politics have been plotting with white supremacist Nick Fuentes to undermine our democracy. As extremists continue to threaten our freedoms, I want to tell you about the critical importance of supporting TFN’s Defend Democracy Fund.

Texas needs an effective, grassroots organization dedicated to fighting the far-right extremism that is undermining democratic safeguards like free and fair elections, public education and individual liberties. For nearly 30 years, we have been that organization—and we’re not stopping now. 

What Your Donation Will Do

• Your donation to our Defend Democracy Fund will support voter registration, Get-Out-the-Vote and leadership development work with young people in our Texas Rising program.
• It will fund Just Texas, which is organizing progressive faith leaders in defense of reproductive freedom, LGBTQIA+ equality and social justice.
• Your support will help ensure our #TeachtheTruth campaign has the resources to oppose book bans, textbook censorship and efforts by extremists to push right-wing propaganda into public schools.
• And it will bolster our work defending the separation of church and state, advocating for climate justice, and so much more.

The stakes are too high for progressive Texans to sit on the sidelines, John. The values we share have never been more threatened.
