We need to speak out now for reproductive freedom in Texas.

Friend,
Yesterday Texas’ Attorney General -- himself still under indictment for defrauding his friends and business associates -- chose to use this moment of crisis as an opportunity to attack women's reproductive freedom. The Attorney General's office ordered a ban on abortion procedures at health clinics (except in cases where the life of the mother is threatened).
The state of Texas has defined abortion as "nonessential" healthcare, showing a gross ignorance of the procedure. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology last week stated:
"Abortion is an essential component of comprehensive health care. It is also a time-sensitive service for which a delay of several weeks, or in some cases days, may increase the risks or potentially make it completely inaccessible. The consequences of being unable to obtain an abortion profoundly impact a person’s life, health, and well-being."
Attacks on women’s reproductive health have led to Texas’ alarmingly high maternal mortality rate, which disproportionately affects African American and Latinx women due to the inequities in our healthcare system.
Women's autonomy is always essential. And right now, we need Texans to make clear that these restrictions on reproductive rights are absolutely unacceptable.
Can you help us get 10,000 signatures this week supporting the right to choose in Texas?
