Our keynote speaker for this program is Elaine O'Neal, former Mayor of Durham, NC. Elaine is a Durham native and double graduate of NCCU, earning her BS and JD. She made history as the first woman to be named Chief District Court Judge and the first woman Superior Court Judge in Durham County. Continuing to trailblaze, she became the first African-American woman to be elected Mayor of Durham in 2021.

Our esteemed panelists are Jessica Holmes, NC State Auditor; Brenda Howerton, Durham Board of County Commissioners; and Tanneshia Dukes, candidate for NC House District 59. Moderating the discussion will be Angelique Stallings, Vice-President of Community Investment for the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce.
