Folks — Lack of access to affordable childcare hurts families and hinders parents’ efforts to reenter the workforce. Kids and families deserve better. That’s why I’m proud to co-sponsor the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit Enhancement Act — which would permanently expand the Child Tax Credit, help families afford high-quality childcare, and set up kids for long-term success.
The Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit Enhancement Act would help families afford care for their kids at daycare centers, after-school programs, summer school, and more. In just the first year, the expanded credit would support 140,000 kids in New Mexico. That’s all the more reason to get on board.
