John,

PA Republican legislators recently filed an anti-voting rights lawsuit with the goal of making it more difficult for voters to cast their ballots.

Here’s the scoop:

According to CBS News, a lawsuit was filed by 24 Republican state lawmakers, “challenging the legality of a 2021 executive order by Biden that orders federal agencies to consider ways to expand access to registering to vote and information about voting.”

Additionally, the lawsuit challenges two Democratic pro-voting state-level actions: The implementation of PA’s automatic voter registration and the directive “that counties cannot reject a voter registration application solely on the basis of finding that the applicant submitted a driver's license number or Social Security number digits that don't match what is in a government agency database.”

As the CBS News article confirms, “The lawsuit is expected to be one of many to litigate voting and election rules in a battleground state that is critical to 2024's presidential contest.”

We’ve seen this before. In 2020, Trump fought against mail-in voting and ran a smear campaign against PA’s election systems in an attempt to overturn the results. Now, with the 2024 presidential election coming up fast and PA being a key battleground state, we have to be prepared for anything. Help us prepare to defend voting rights in PA by rushing $25 or more today →
