IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE PARTY
As we all try to come to grips with the Coronavirus, The Republican Party of New Mexico encourages everyone to take precautions, practice safe health measures and do what’s required to protect oneself and families. The Party stresses that the health and safety of all New Mexicans are paramount.
To this end, the Party is currently conducting operations and communications remotely. Social distancing is an integral part of addressing this pandemic; therefore, the Republican Party continues its mission and engagement, but will utilize virtual/remote practices for outreach, projects, campaign events and other initiatives. The Party is connecting with candidates, voters and others via remote/virtual fundraising, phonebanking, training sessions, meetings and other means of communication. Trump Victory also continues its outreach and programs via remote/virtual phonebanking, strategy meetings and TVLI training sessions. As we operate this way, our leadership, staff and volunteers continue to work hard to help turn New Mexico red this fall.
Please keep checking our website for upcoming events, important information, videos, press releases and ways you can get involved with the Party during this difficult and unpredictable time.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
NEW MEXICO PUSHING FOR VOTERS TO USE MAIL-IN BALLOTS FOR THIS COMING JUNE PRIMARY
New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver is encouraging registered voters to request absentee ballots ahead of the state’s June 2 Primary Election. State officials say they're pushing this due to the Coronavirus. We all want to be safe and healthy and take the proper precautions during this pandemic, but absentee ballots are often where voter fraud can happen. We all want free and fair elections in 2020, and ballot integrity is paramount.

GOV. LUJAN GRISHAM COULD CALL FOR A SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Pressure is building for a Special Session as Gov. Lujan Grisham acknowledges there might be a need in June or July to address fiscal problems. Such a legislative session would come amid a sputtering economy and plunging world oil prices, which are threatening to undermine major sources of state government income.
Legislative Republicans warned you, Governor.
New Mexico House Republicans recent called on the governor to hold such a special session.
“We have people hurting all over New Mexico and we need to address those,” said House Minority Leader Jim Townsend (R)-Artesia. The falling price of oil recently is “considerably below our budget forecast,” Townsend said. “And although I know we have some reserves … I don’t believe it’s prudent on our part to consume all of our reserves before we make a decision.”
House Republican leaders sent a letter to Lujan Grisham detailing their concerns. They called for budget cuts based on new revenue projections and urged saving current reserves. Here's the letter to the governor:
COUNTY CONSIDERS RELEASING INMATES DURING CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC
Sandoval County officials want certain inmates in the County jail to be released--those who are behind bars for non-violent crimes and misdemeanors. The government wants these inmates to be let go to reduce the risk of Coronavirus spreading. Are they kidding? These inmates would just jeopardize the health of others. This is so irresponsible of government, endangering the health of those who are trying to abide by the local laws.
CALL TO ACTION: Tell Commissioners to vote against releasing the inmates:

I’m a life-long New Mexican, small business owner, and a passionate advocate for child safety, parental rights, and issues surrounding the foster care and adoption system. I’ve been married to Doug for nine years, who is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, a U.S. Air Force veteran and a software engineer for Aegis Technologies. We are blessed parents to eight children, five of whom we adopted through the New Mexico foster care system.
I’m running for New Mexico’s 27th District to be a strong voice in Santa Fe for all children and families.
