Dear  john ,

I hope that you and your family are well. This past weekend, swampy Senate negotiators, led by Sen. Lankford from Oklahoma, released the text of their amnesty and Ukraine money quid pro quo. I’m a HARD NO on any such deal, just as I voted no on last week's bill that allows tax giveaways to illegal immigrants. You can read my reaction to the bill here, and I’ll have more information for you as the week progresses.

Impeaching Mayorkas

This past week, the Committee on Homeland Security advanced articles of impeachment against Secretary Mayorkas. The House of Representatives will now vote to impeach the architect of our nation’s border crisis.

Our nation cannot continue to endure this destruction.

After three years of Biden and Mayorkas flagrantly disobeying the law, a full year of investigating Mayorkas’ decisions, and Biden’s border crisis worsening on a daily basis, it is long past time that we move forward to impeach Secretary Mayorkas. We are dealing with an individual who is pro-open borders, pro-illegal immigration, and pro-lawlessness. This cannot and will not continue.

As Justice Samuel Alito stated in his dissent in United States v. Texas, the remedy is impeachment. We’ll move forward expeditiously, and I’ll keep you updated via social media and this newsletter as we pursue accountability and justice.

Open Borders and Pro-Crime Mayhem
This past week, The Daily Caller brought to light a horrible instance of what my conservative colleagues and I have been warning about for years – that dangerous terrorists are utilizing our open border to enter the country.

A member of the Somali terror group al-Shabaab was caught illegally crossing the border and then released. He roamed freely for nearly a full year before being arrested in Minnesota last month. In the wake of the October 7th Hamas attacks and the spread of violent protests in America, many Americans are wondering why the Biden administration  continues to allow an endless flow of unvetted migrants to cross the border with no repercussions.

This is not an isolated situation. Military-aged men from around the globe are entering America by the thousands, as warned in a dire letter from former Homeland Security and FBI officials.

In New York City, a group of illegal immigrants beat up two NYPD cops in harrowing video footage. To add insult to injury, four of them were released without bail back onto the streets by a Manhattan judge, where they then fled.

This is emblematic of the total lawlessness and danger unleashed through Biden’s border crisis. These are deliberate violations of law and of Congressional intent by liberals. As long as they are in power, they will perpetuate the chaos. I’m committed to doing all that I can in any capacity to restore law and order to cities and streets across our state and nation.

Grid Down, Power Up - Dennis Quaid on Capitol Hill

Our power grid is vulnerable to numerous threats, as many of us know all too well from the 2022 attack on the Moore County power substation that caused extensive power outages. The perpetrators still haven’t been apprehended.

Actor Dennis Quaid, known for roles in The Parent Trap, The Rookie, and The Day After Tomorrow, took note of the problem and lent his celebrity to the cause, narrating the documentary Grid Down, Power Up.

My team and I enjoyed meeting with Mr. Quaid as he visited Capitol Hill this week to sound the alarm about this important issue with members of Congress and staff.

Supporting North Carolina Farmers

Recently, I signed onto a letter with dozens of my colleagues calling for House and Senate appropriations committees to prohibit federal funds from being used to implement harmful regulations that will significantly increase costs for farm operations.

Our farmers are critical to North Carolina and the nation’s well-being., and I’ll continue standing against harmful rules and regulations that hamper farmers’ ability to produce the food we all need.
