In an exclusive interview with Live 5 News WCSC, Michael shared that our campaign raised $117,253 in the fourth quarter of 2023, bringing our end-of-year fundraising total to $460,318.

The campaign also reported $105,636 cash on hand. 

Of our fourth-quarter donors, 80 percent were first-time contributors to the campaign.

Our number of new contributions more than doubled from Q3 to Q4, and our number of individual donors increased by almost the same margin.

We're reaching out to voters in every corner of the Lowcountry, and our commonsense message is resonating with the people of SC-01.

Michael was grateful to be endorsed by Vote Common Good as a Candidate for Common Good, along with 50 incredible Democratic leaders across the country.

This campaign is all about bridging partisan divides and bringing down the temperature of our politics. That's what the folks of SC-01 want.

Michael was honored to address the International Longshoremen's Association's Southeastern Dock and Marine Council at its general assembly meeting in Charleston.

Michael also stood in solidarity with the members of ILA Local 1422 as they condemned Gov. Henry McMaster's harmful, anti-union remarks.

As a longtime businessman and community leader, Michael believes in fair pay, safe working conditions, and comprehensive labor rights.

Michael had a nice time at the SCDP Council Of Black Democrats FITN Sunday Dinner in Columbia, featuring remarks from Rep. James Clyburn, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, and guest speaker Rep. Joyce Beatty.

February 1 marked the beginning of Black History Month — and Michael reminded us that the annual observance is about more than just slavery and civil rights.

This month, let's commit to celebrating the full spectrum of African American experiences.

On Saturday, Michael cast his ballot in South Carolina's *first-ever* first-in-the-nation Democratic primary!

He couldn't be more proud of this state and the important role it plays in our presidential nominating process.

The Post and Courier reported that another Republican candidate, Catherine Templeton, jumped in the race for SC-01 — meaning Nancy Mace's primary just got a whole lot messier.

But no matter who the GOP nominates, Lowcountry voters want a representative who will stand up for working families, safeguard reproductive freedom, and strengthen our democracy.

That's why we're going to win in November.

There's so much work to do, and we're only just getting started.
