It's been another busy week back in D.C.! Each day, I work to address your concerns and protect our liberties. From helping you navigate federal casework to advocating for your priorities, my team and I are always here to help. Stand with Texas: Secure The Border House Republicans stand in lockstep with Texas. If President Biden wants to restore law and order at our borders, he can reimplement the dozens of border and immigration policies he reversed since he took office. The fight to safeguard our nation should unite us on all fronts. WATCH: Rep. Tony Gonzales joins House Republicans for a press conference in support of Texas on Monday. Holding the Biden Administration Accountable Secretary Mayorkas has repeatedly violated his oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. His failure to enforce existing immigration laws has left our nation extremely vulnerable to security threats that endanger American lives. On Tuesday, I voted to advance articles of impeachment out of the House Committee on Homeland Security. I will continue to hold the Biden administration accountable for their failure to uphold the law and secure our borders. Backing Law Enforcement Big win in the House this week! In 2022, Border Patrol Agent Raul Gonzalez was killed in a high-speed chase while pursuing a group of illegal immigrants. On Wednesday, the House passed legislation in his honor to increase penalties for human smugglers who put our law enforcement in danger. TX-23 has seen enough death and destruction at the hands of these criminals that enable illegal immigration. I am proud to have worked with colleague and friend Representative Juan Ciscomani to get this bill across the finish line. Click here to learn more about the Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act. Zero Tolerance For Terrorism Anyone with ties to Hamas has no place in America. They should be deported immediately and without exception. This week, the House passed the No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act, and I voted in favor of it. Under President Biden's administration, an increased number of individuals on the terrorist watchlist have been encountered at our borders. This legislation will ensure ANYONE with ties to Hamas is expelled from our country and held accountable.
