john, 154 years ago today, our nation ratified the 15th Amendment granting African American males the right to vote for the first time in history.

While this legislation wasn't perfect, it paved the way for progress in our country.

Unfortunately, today, that forward progress has stalled. Republicans are actively using their powers to erode voting rights wherever they can. And instead of defending the voting rights of all Americans, our highly conservative Supreme Court has stood in lockstep with Republicans, continuously validating their egregious efforts and making it easier than ever for lawmakers to restrict millions of Americans' access to the ballot box.

We need Congress to protect the right to vote before it's too late. Add your name to join Kim in the fight to make the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act a reality. → [link removed]

Kim is fighting back against voter suppression to protect every American's right to vote. That's why she joined her House colleagues to pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act to prevent discrimination, end partisan gerrymandering, provide automatic voter registration, increase ballot box access, and more. Yet, as a result of partisan politics, its progress has stalled to a grind, and now that Republicans are in control, they are trying to ensure it remains unpassed.

That's something we can't allow to happen.

If you agree, add your name to stand with Kim and demand Congress protect the right to vote by passing the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act into law today.
