Hey John,

I know you hear from us pretty regularly, so today, I want to pull back the curtain a bit for you. Will you give me a moment to share why these emails are such an important part of our campaign?

We've rejected the old-school playbook for how to run a political campaign. I made it clear from the start that I wanted to run a different kind of campaign -- one that puts people first.

That's why I decided to reject corporate PAC money. If we're going to fix Washington, then we need leaders who aren't beholden to special interests.

Instead, we're running a campaign for the people and powered by the people. That second part is really, really important because here's the truth: most of our donations come from lots of people (just like you!) giving whatever they can afford in response to emails (just like this one!).

All these donations add up in a major way. That's a big reason why these emails are so important and why I need to ask today:

Will you make your first donation -- of any amount -- to our special election campaign today? For a grassroots campaign like ours, this is about more than just how much we raise, but also how many people are chipping in to help us win.

Running a campaign powered by the people, not corporate PACs, is not only the right thing to do, but it's also how we're going to win in 32 days.

I'll pick the people over corporate PACs and special interests every day.

Yours in this fight,

Dan
