Folks, we’re just a few weeks into the new year, and I’m already so proud of the progress I’ve helped deliver for CO-07 families.

I’ll tell you more, but first — will you chip in before our big end-of-month fundraising deadline to help support my work in Congress? I want to continue fighting for progress over blind partisanship, and I’d be grateful to have your support.

Earlier this month, I helped deliver over $2 million in federal funding for Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Jefferson County. I believe early childhood education is absolutely critical — but for so many Colorado families, it’s difficult to find affordable early childhood education. This funding for Jefferson County will provide necessary classroom support and help ensure Colorado students will be well-prepared for success in school.

I also joined my Colorado colleagues in Congress urging the USPS to resolve persistent delivery issues in communities across our state. We outlined four specific recommendations to improve services, including expanding access to training and establishing proper oversight of mail processing and delivery. The USPS provides a critical service to every American — that’s why I’m pushing them to resolve their operational and workforce issues as soon as possible.

Finally, as a member of the House Committee on Financial Services, I was glad to see the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau propose a rule to rein in exorbitant overdraft fees. Right now, banks can charge $35 or more for a single overdraft purchase, despite the fact that the majority of consumers’ debit card overdrafts are for less than $26, and are repaid within three days. Best of all, this is just part of a continued effort to take on junk fees and put more money in Americans’ pockets.

I know Washington politics can be chaotic sometimes, but I want you to know that I’m always working hard to deliver the investments and results that our communities deserve.
