Dear John,

My opponent is at it again.


In November, only a week after being elected to the State Senate, and two months before being sworn into that office for the first time, John McGuire announced he would challenge me for the Republican nomination -- breaking his word to the people of his Senate District.


Just days later, McGuire declared that "in just 48 hours" he had raised $250,000 for the primary to run against me, touting his supposed momentum and enthusiastic support. The problem for my opponent is that his federal financial report, that was just released yesterday, not only shows that he didn't raise $250,000 in 48 hours, it shows that he didn't even raise that amount in the entire fourth quarter (Oct-Dec).


His campaign finance report shows he only raised $212,000, for the three-month period -- $38,000 LESS than what he said he raised in 48 hours. And, not surprisingly, an overwhelming majority of his contributions are from OUTSIDE the 5th District.

John McGuire, like his benefactors, the Kevin McCarthy allies and the big money elites, will do or say anything to try and beat me. Politico reported today that the former Speaker, who left the House in December, is targeting 3 PRINCIPLED CONSERVATIVES for defeat in Republican Primaries. I am at the top of his target list.


They will stop at nothing to exact revenge against me for leading the charge to change Washington. They hate that I represent YOU, and not them.

While McGuire's fundraising is not what he claimed it was, there is a shadow dark money Super PAC based in Wisconsin that has raised $1 million to attack and smear me. And former Speaker McCarthy and his allies are directing mega donors to write more big checks to it.
