"Will you chip in before midnight to elect Dem govs?"
Hi team, I’m Tim Walz, the Governor of Minnesota and the Chair of the Democratic Governors Association. I asked the DGA if I could email you today in this critical moment. There’s no question about it: Our nation – and our entire world – is at a crossroads. But instead of working with us in good faith to solve problems, Republicans at all levels of government are focused on banning books, attacking the LGBTQ+ community, and championing atrocious abortion bans.

Before I explain how Democratic governors – including myself – are fighting back, I have an important question to ask. Will you step up and give a gift of $3 or $6 and help elect leaders who will protect our most fundamental rights? There are less than 24 hours left to ensure the DGA meets our first end-of-month goal of the year. I need your help now while donations are still being matched dollar-for-dollar up to our $50,000 goal – but only until midnight tonight.

When I look at Republicans in office and on the ballot this year, their efforts to force our nation backward makes me want to raise my voice and fight back, team:

They’re banning books from their schools. We’re banishing hunger from ours.
They’re demonizing our children. We’re investing in education so children have the resources they need to succeed.
They’re restricting access to the ballot box. We’re expanding it.
They’re obsessed with what’s happening in their constituents’ personal lives and what’s going on in their bedrooms. Here in Minnesota, we mind our own damn business.
It’s that simple, team.

Republicans are doing everything they can to restrict the rights of their constituents. To protect our most basic rights, we need to oust these far-right extremists and elect Democratic leaders who will fight for the people – not themselves.
