John, being a woman in America shouldn’t be a death sentence – but because of reckless, radical Republican gamesmanship, it can be. And we are seeing that play out first hand now. As we mark what would have been the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade in America this January, devastating new reports about the impact of attacks on women’s freedom have been released. 

In Texas, radical anti-freedom Republicans seized on the Supreme Court’s decision to enact one of the most extreme abortion bans in our nation. Their dangerous ban resulted in multiple deaths or near deaths due to pregnancy-related complications. Women are traveling out-of-state seeking abortions, as physicians and advocates face millions of dollars in lawsuits for helping women acquire abortion medication. All while there have been more than 26K rape-related pregnancies, and the birth rate among Texas teens has hit a 15-year high.

Overturning Roe v. Wade was just the beginning. Republicans are now looking towards enacting a nationwide abortion ban if they win in November.

Many more lives are at stake. It’s not an exaggeration to say we need your help. 

We must elect Democrats up and down the ballot who believe that the right to reproductive freedom is fundamental and will do all they can to protect access to essential, life-saving health care.
