We may lose the science needed to protect people and wildlife.TAKE ACTION

[[link removed]]John,
After the events of the past few weeks, it is clear how crucial it is for every
governmental agency to rely on facts and use the best available science. We
simply cannot protect people and wildlife without rigorous and peer-reviewed
scientific studies.
That’s why, as a scientist, I am asking for your voice today.
Please say NO to a new proposal that will keep highly respected and
peer-reviewed scientific studies from informing government decisions about
environmental protections.

TAKE ACTION FOR WILDLIFE AND PEOPLE

The Environmental Protection Agency could stop using the “best available”
science, or all “reasonably available” science and information for pollution
regulations that should protect us and wildlife from harm. Limiting what information federal decision-makers can consider will benefit
some corporate interests at the expense of wildlife and the environment. That’s
a cost we can ill afford at a time when we should be strengthening science-based
decision-making.
I am alarmed that our ability to protect people and species like the common loon
from air pollution and climate disruption, safeguard clean water and wetland
habitats, and defend endangered and other wildlife from pesticides and other
toxic substances, may be greatly weakened.
Tell the Environmental Protection Agency that less science hurts people and
wildlife.

Congress rightfully rejected extreme and harmful efforts to deliberately exclude
the best science available during the regulatory process. And now the
Environmental Protection Agency must follow suit. It is up to every American to speak out and stop the dangerous and misleadingly
titled “Strengthening Transparency in Regulatory Science” proposal.

Thank you for all that you do to ensure that wildlife conservation and public
health are based on sound science.
Sincerely,
