Happy Kansas Day everyone! I'm so proud to be a 6th generation Kansan and have the honor of representing the greatest state in the country to live, work, and raise a family. Ad Astra Per Aspera! Let's Go Chiefs! The Kansas City Chiefs are back to back AFC Champs and headed to Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII. Don’t ever count out Chiefs Kingdom. How about those Chiefs! Honoring Captain Shopteese Captain Shopteese’s profound legacy of service to our country and to the Native American community will live on for generations to come. I'm proud to join my fellow Kansans in introducing legislation to rename the Kansas City VA clinic after this American hero. Watch HERE Traveling the District I dropped by Brookside Assisted Living in Overbrook to talk to Kansans about my work in Washington, answer questions about Medicare, and highlight legislation we passed out of the House that lowers out-of-pocket costs for seniors. It was great to see everyone! It was great stopping by businesses across Shawnee County today to talk with folks about how inflation, labor shortages, and overbearing regulations from the Biden administration have continued to negatively impact their operations. Kicked off the day on Thursday at Murphy Tractor in Topeka talking about issues facing ag equipment suppliers and meeting a few of the 650+ Kansans they employ! Fantastic time at Billy Sims BBQ in Emporia talking to folks about the most important issues facing our communities. It’s clear that Kansans want a secure border, less reckless government spending, and real accountability in Washington. Thanks to everyone for coming out and joining me for lunch! Three U.S. Service Members Killed in Jordan Three American service members were killed and more than 25 injured during a drone strike in Jordan last night. The Iran-backed terrorists responsible for this attack on US troops must be held accountable. Join me in praying for the families, friends, and loved ones of these American heroes.
