Hi there, it’s Deborah Ross.

North Carolina is the definition of a purple state. Governor Roy Cooper won in 2016 by fewer than 10,000 votes. Attorney General Josh Stein won in 2020 by less than 14,000 votes. And Donald Trump won our state by less than 75,000 votes.

However, Republicans in the General Assembly have used their power to draw themselves a supermajority, working behind closed doors to silence the voices of North Carolina voters by enacting egregiously gerrymandered maps.

That’s why I led the North Carolina Democratic delegation this week in introducing legislation that would reform our backward redistricting process in North Carolina — and across the country.

I’m not afraid to fight back against Republicans’ repeated attacks on our democracy, but I need your help to stay on the frontlines of this fight. My team and I need to raise $5,000 before January ends, and we can’t do it without you. Will you chip in $ now and help us get there? [[link removed]]

I’m proud to be a member of a congressional delegation that reflects the rich ideological and racial diversity of our great state — but Republicans are afraid of letting that diversity manifest at the ballot box. They’re afraid of a fair fight.

Instead of working to solve the issues important to North Carolinians, Republicans are actively silencing voices they don’t want to hear.

Partisan gerrymandering is one of the most dangerous and prevalent threats to our democracy, and it’s high time we took action to fight back.

This is our first fundraising deadline of the election year. If we don’t reach this goal, we risk losing all of the progress I’ve worked hard to make for North Carolina and our country. Please consider chipping in before Wednesday at midnight to help me reach my $5K goal and continue championing the voices of North Carolinians in Congress: [[link removed]]

In 2020, Deborah became the first Democrat in over a decade to be elected to represent North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional district. In her first term, eleven pieces of legislation she introduced were signed into law. These measures increased funding for sexual assault nurse examiners, enhanced judicial ethics and transparency, and bolstered North Carolina’s offshore wind energy potential. Deborah needs your support to continue the fight for fairness, equality, and progress. Let’s do this together.
