Friend, Ensuring our veterans receive the full scope of care they have earned by serving our country is a top priority for me. Next Monday, January 29th at 6:30 PM CT, I will be holding a telephone town hall with House Veterans' Affairs Committee Chairman Mike Bost to discuss how we can support veterans and ensure they receive full benefits, as well as answer your questions. All are welcome to join! Dial the number below and stay on the line to be connected. Veterans Telephone Town Hall with House Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chairman Mike Bost January 29th, 2024 6:30 PM CT Dial: (833) 364-1469 Best, ICYMI: Working For You in 2024 (so far!) 2024 is off to a strong start! Here is a brief recap of what my team and I have been working on for Iowans so far this year. We look forward to continuing to lead the fight for Iowans and our values in Congress! Passed legislation on the House Floor to support pregnant women while they continue their studies and have a healthy pregnancy. Visited eight counties in Iowa's Second Congressional District, and held three in-person town halls. Joined the Gilbertville community for the groundbreaking of the Gilbertville Emergency Services Building. I was proud to secure $500,000 in federal funding to bring this project to fruition. Helped introduce legislation to permanently repeal the death tax and protect Iowa small business owners and family farms from double taxation while they are grieving a loved one. Supported legislation to ensure whole milk can be offered in schools to both support our dairy farmers and ensure children have access to nutritious options. Voted to condemn President Biden's self-created border crisis while offering solutions to secure the border and combat illegal immigration, including building the wall, tightening the asylum process, and ending catch and release. Led bipartisan legislation to ensure opioid settlement funds from U.S. corporations aren't misused and go toward prevention, treatment, and enforcement. Continued to run a top-notch constituent service operation, helping Iowans receive long overdue tax refunds from the IRS, recovering medals for veterans to recognize their service to our country, and helping with employment benefits. We are just getting started working for you this year. It is an honor to serve you and your families in Congress. If my team or I can be of service to you in any way, please don't hesitate to contact us or stop by one of our offices. Facebook Twitter Instagram Stay Connected Rep.
