John, I'm writing with major news:

The Biden Administration just announced they are going to pause approval
of new liquified natural gas export facilities.^1

This is an important victory for our climate movement in the fight for our
planet because if built, one of the liquified natural gas export
facilities would produce 20 times the greenhouse gas emissions of the
Willow Project in Alaska.^2

Frontline fighters in the Gulf made this victory happen — and together
we’ve applied enough pressure and people power to send a message that the
movement against liquified natural gas is here to stay.

But we can't stop the pressure on the Biden Administration now, we need to
keep campaigning to stop liquified natural gas once and for all:

US oil and gas CEOs have been exporting record amounts of liquified
natural gas overseas and exacerbating pollution and climate change both
here and abroad, all to keep stacking up record profits. Yet earlier this
week, 60 EU lawmakers told Biden that they don't need more US liquified
natural gas and he shouldn't use them as an excuse to expand
exportation.^3

Now, for the first time, according to these reports, liquified natural gas
projects will be scrutinized based on their climate, economic, and
national security impacts. And the projects awaiting permits will fail
these tests because these gas exports only serve the interests of big oil
and gas corporations.

This victory is a DIRECT result of the pressure from our climate
movement, John.

But we know the fossil fuel industry and its allies in Congress will do
and say whatever they can to stop this progress and protect their billions
of dollars in profit. Their top priority is profits over people.

That is why we cannot afford to lose any momentum — [ [link removed] ]please make a
$3.50
contribution today and help our climate movement build on this victory and
stop the liquified natural gas project once and for all.
