Hi there,
This week is chock full of events, including our performance oversight training tonight (Wednesday) and the first Ward 1.5 meet up of 2024 (newly christened the Mid-City/Near Northwest/Rock Creek West Happy Hour). Plus, we're teaming up with several local partners to host a teach in for Transit Equity Day in early February.
We hope to see you at something soon!
Upcoming Events
D.C. Performance Oversight Training [[link removed]]
Wednesday, January 24, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm ET
Zoom
Join Greater Greater Washington for a review of the DC Council’s performance oversight process—including what it is, what the point of it is, how it works, how to participate, and what makes for effective testimony. This is a training that's open to anyone interested in attending, not an ask of attendees to support GGWash's interests. It will be recorded. Make sure to sign up [[link removed]] to stay in the loop.
January Mid-City/Near Northwest/Rock Creek West Happy Hour [[link removed]]
Sunday, January 28, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm ET
Grand Duchess, 2337 18th St. NW, Washington, D.C., 20009
GGWash hosts bimonthly happy hours at Grand Duchess in Adams Morgan. Meet others who want to see more housing, more affordable housing, fewer trips by car, and the land-use regulations necessary to support the above—plus, hear what GGWash is working on, particularly in the northwest DC. planning areas, and what you can do to get involved. Sign up via this form so we can get in touch with you with any updates.
Transit Equity Teach-in: Finding federal funding [[link removed]]
Tuesday, February 6, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm ET
Smart Growth America Office, 1350 Eye St NW Washington, DC, xxxxxx
Join GGWash, the DC Transportation Equity Network, Citizens Climate Lobby, and Transportation for America for an in-person transit equity teach-in on Tuesday, February 6th from 5:30 - 7:00. In this casual conversation, we'll talk about what the Stronger Communities Through Better Transit Act [[link removed]] could mean for DC, what we can do to help get it passed, and other ways to advance transit equity in DC. Bring your questions and come curious. Space is limited, so make sure to sign up to reserve your spot.
