Here's what I had to say about housing on Coast TV

John,

I recently spoke with Coast TV about the pressing issues to Delaware that are central to my campaign for Congress.

Out of the issues discussed, housing, particularly home ownership, is deeply personal and significant to me.

At a young age, my father's business went bankrupt, leading to us losing everything. We moved from rental home to rental home, experiencing homelessness at times and a number of hardships despite my parent's efforts to keep us afloat.

Now, these are similar challenges many of our hardworking families face.

Even in supposedly lower-cost areas, high-interest rates and costly materials create significant obstacles for people who want to be homeowners.

I'm actively involved in projects addressing this, focusing on sourcing materials strategically to lower costs and different approaches to make this burden easier for people across Delaware.

My family was once evicted which is why I am dedicated to finding real solutions in Congress. It is also why I actively work on initiatives now to ensure accessible and affordable housing for all Delawareans, but I can't do this by myself.

John, can you donate to our campaign today and help us make real change so we can prevent more Delawarean families from facing issues related to home ownership and housing?

In unity,

Colleen Davis

At just eight years old, Colleen’s life changed when her father’s company fell victim to fraud and went bankrupt. Her family was evicted, lost their home and all of their possessions, and they moved from rental home to rental home and school to school.

Thanks to the power of family, hard work and the care of her neighbors and teachers in Delaware, Colleen persevered and paid her way through college by driving an ambulance.

As a mom of three, and due to her own family’s early struggle, Colleen knows that we need more representatives in Congress who come from the working class and are focused on fighting for families. She will continue her work to keep Delaware families safe and secure, and fight for our children’s future by combating climate change, getting dangerous weapons off our streets and protecting our democracy and a woman’s right to choose.
