John,

Today marks the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court case that protected abortion access as a constitutional right for almost half a century.

But today, we’re seeing the heartbreaking aftermath of the Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade. We’ve seen extreme abortion bans passed in legislatures across the country, women have been denied emergency medical treatments, and some hospitals are no longer providing emergency contraception to women.

Even with extreme bans in place across the South, some lawmakers are going even further to punish and threaten women and doctors with jail time for performing or receiving an abortion.

And now, in a few months, the Supreme Court will decide on further limits on access to the widely used abortion pill, Mifepristone.

Virginia isn’t immune to these attacks, either. Governor Glenn Youngkin has said he’d sign any bill “happily and gleefully” to restrict abortion access in Virginia.

Thanks to our small, but mighty Democratic majorities in our state legislature, Virginia remains the only state in the South that hasn’t further restricted abortion or women’s healthcare access since the Dobbs decision. We must now elect a governor who will join them in protecting reproductive rights and the health of women.

As Governor of Virginia, I will always protect women’s reproductive rights, but I need your help to get there. Will you contribute to our campaign today to elect a pro-choice Governor of Virginia in 2025?
