That subject line is not a joke or taken out of context. Sadly, it’s real. Yes, my opponent Marie Perez literally said on a left-wing podcast:
“Nobody stays awake at night worrying about the southern border.”
Can she really be this bad at her job? Can she really be this unserious about the crisis our nation is facing right now?
In 2023, US Border Patrol identified at least 169 migrants who were on the terrorist watch list — a tenfold increase over the number in 2021. And that’s only the ones they caught.
Why do terrorists feel emboldened to break into our country?
Simple: because my opponent voted against securing the border.

Marie Perez should know better: her own constituents here in Washington State are dying because of the fentanyl that also flows freely across the southern border.
In Clark County, the largest county in the district, there were 67 fentanyl overdose deaths in 2022. Four years earlier, there were just 11.
In that same year, authorities in Washington State seized at least 1.6 million fentanyl-laced pills, all from Mexico and made with Chinese ingredients.
Marie may not lose sleep over a crisis where terrorists and lethal drugs freely enter our country, putting families in Washington’s 3rd District at risk, but I do.
And unlike Marie, it’s not a problem I’m going to ignore and pretend doesn’t exist: I’m going to solve it.
